Kolaru Pathigam Meaning & Lyrics in English - Remove the obstacles in life

Vanakam to all precious Atma,

Here is a remarkable prayer  addressed to Shiva composed by Sambandar , one of great saivite saints who were  called  as Nayanmar. Once the  Pandya  country  of Tamil Nadu was under the influence ofJains , with the king himself converting himself to jain religion. At that time the queen who was a saivite  requested Sambandar and Manikka Vasagar to visit their country and bring it back to saivism. At that time it seems both saints were in the holy place of Thirumaraikkadu(Vedaranyam). . Manikkavasagar was little worried to  go because , it was  at that time thought that the Jains were  experts in evil magic. Then Sambandar sang this prayer, which essentially tells that neither the planets, nor the evil mantras nor the wild animals nor any other thing that can cause harm,  can cause harm to the devotee of Lord Shiva. If this prayer is sung with devotion, it would definitely save us from anything that causes evil.

Karma - The Divine law or the Universal Law

Law of Karma is a  very important law that we need to understand clearly. What is it and how it works in our daily life.

Many complain, why this is happening to me? What did I do to deserve what I am going through? Why I am suffering and nothing good is happening to me? Why is God being unfair and cruel to me? Is God a loving person? Etc etc etc. I have heard these and other similar words from people of all walks of life and all ages.  Many times what ever that the suffering that we go through which we the complain is, is our the karma.

First understanding is that the Law of karma is law of action - reaction. Every action that we put into the world, either physically or mentally or emotionally comes back to us in a form of reaction, that we experience in our life. It is like planting a seed, the seed will take time and grow slowly until it become a matured tree where it starts to fruit
and the fruit are the results or the reaction that we experience in our life.

The world is a great platform created by God so that the law of karma can take place and been implemented. The activities are the experiences that every single soul goes through. The experiences could be pain, suffering, agony, joy, happiness or something else.

We must understand in a deeper level that every single experiences that we go through that seems to be very bad that we complain all the time, or good experiences that we never talk about it, are only experiences. They are neither good or bad . They are our great teacher,  to teach us what to do or what not to do and help us to move on to the next level of progression. The experiences helps us to study and learn. The experiences also " purifies" us and mature gradually.

It is very easy to blame others for what that is happening to us. It is also easy for us to criticize the people around us, the environment , the leaders, the country for what is happening to us. That shows your foolishness. That shows your weakness too.  Be courageous  enough to accept what you are going through as  your own creation and face it gracefully and learn from it. That shows your strength.

In conclusion, stop complain and blaming others for whatever that you are going through in your life and accept and face it gracefully for God is the life of your life and He is there for you to uplift and help your to move forward.

We will talk about how to reduce our karma, precautions and types of karma in our upcoming articles.

Birth , death and rebirth

Vanakam and blessed morning to all Divine Soul,
Recently many forwarded messages on WhatsApp groups that show where accidents happened and people died. Also quite a number of people expressing their desires to commit suicide and also quite number of them committed suicide due to relationship, financial and other reasons.
First we must understand the basics that is who we are really.  Are we the name that we carry ourself  Siva, Muthu, Devi, Vani etc ? Are we the title that we carry Dr, Profesor, Dato, Datuk Seri , Tan Sri etc? Are we the position that we hold in the company Manager, General Manager, Director etc? Are we the owner of the company, society, organization etc ? All the questions above and the positions and titles are legitimate as long as we are alive. When we are dead, everything becomes null and void. What matters, what you carry to the next birth is your deeds, good and bad, that is the bank balance debit and credit that matters.
So who are we actually? The true You is that You are the Atma, the soul,  divine being with divine light that came from God and are on the journey going back to God and which never dies. What dies is the physical body which forms the sheath or the layer for the soul which helps in the evolution of the soul in this physical world which is called Bhuloka. When we die, we leave the physical body and the soul with other bodies astral and: mental body continue to live in the second world Devaloka.
The second point is birth death and rebirth are the natural law of the universal or God. The soul will reincarnate to go through it's suitcase of karmas that was brought with them to this world. Once they have fulfilled the karmas, the soul will leave the physical body which we call death. It continues it's journey in the inner world. If the suitcase of karma that we carried this world is not settled due to our action of committing suicide our suitcase karmas are " back logged" and soul' s evolution is also back logged. Remember that our souls  have taken thousands of births to evolve towards God. Only through the process of birth death and rebirth that the soul can attain maturity and self realization or God realization. We must understand this and teach to ourselves and our kids too that birth and death are very natural and it's a happy occasion.
Don't get upset when someone in your family members, relatives or friends died due to natural disaster, terminal illness etc. Accept it.Of course you will miss them and you will be sad that they are not a part of your life anymore, grief due to changes in our lives is a natural response and you need to give yourself time to grieve for them and for yourself and the changes their leaving will cause for you. However they have only moved away they still love you and you will see them again in a different form or a different body. Those who know that they are dying have a great gift they can take this chance to resolve all the misunderstandings and hurt  feelings with others and forgive them and to gain forgiveness for their past actions. This will help resolve many of the karmas you created in your life.
Hoping that the above information enlighten all of you.
Om Santhi. Om Namasivaya.

Varalakshmi Viratam - August 12, 2016

Blessed morning to all precious Atma

Varalakshmi Puja is observed by married women in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and other parts of South India. Varalakshmi Puja 2016 date is August 12. Goddess Lakshmi – the goddess of wealth and prosperity – is worshipped on the day. Varamahalakshmi literally means the boon granting goddess.
The Friday before the Full Moon, or Pournami day, of Tamil Month Aadi is chosen to perform Varalakshmi Puja. The corresponding month in the Kannada, Marathi and Telugu Calendar is the Shravan month.
Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi on Varalakshmi Vrata day is equivalent to worshippingAshtalaksmi – the eight goddesses of Wealth, Earth, Learning, Love, Fame, Peace, Pleasure, and Strength.
The importance of Varalakshmi Puja is mentioned in the Skanda Purana. It is believed that importance of Varalakshmi Puja was narrated to Goddess Parvati by Lord Shiva.
Goddess Parvati wanted to know about a Vrata that is highly beneficial to a woman, which will help her lead a happy and prosperous life on earth. Lord Shiva then mentioned about the Varamahalakshmi Vratam.

How to perform Varalakshmi Puja?

Varalakshmi Puja or Varalakshmi Vratham is an important ritual observed by married women in South India and Maharashtra for the prosperity and welfare of their families. The date of Varalakshmi Vratham in 2016 is August 12. Varalakshmi Puja falls on a Friday in the month of August and the preparations for the puja begin on Thursday. All the necessary items needed for the pooja are collected by Thursday evening.

People wake up early in the morning on Friday and take a bath. Traditionally speaking the waking up time for the puja is the brahma muhurtham. Then the designated puja area and house is cleaned well and a beautiful ‘kolam’ or rangoli is drawn on the intended place of puja.

Next is the preparation of the ‘kalasham or kalash.’ A bronze or silver pot is selected and is cleaned thoroughly and a swastika symbol is drawn and is smeared with sandalwood paste. The kalasham pot is filled with raw rice or water, coins, a single whole lime, five different kinds of leaves, and beetle nut. The items used to fill the kalasham vary from region to region and includes turmeric, comb, mirror, small black bangles and black beads.

The kalasham up to the neck is sometimes covered with a cloth and mango leaves are placed on the mouth of the kalasham. Finally, a coconut smeared with turmeric is used to close the mouth of the kalasham. To this coconut, an image of Goddess Lakshmi is fixed or the image of Lakshmi is drawn using turmeric powder. Now the kalasham symbolically represents Goddess Lakshmi.

In some areas, women place a mirror behind the kalasham. Today, there are also specially made Varalakshmi pots available in the market.

The kalasham is usually placed on a bed of rice. First Lord Ganesha is worshipped. Then begins the Varalakshmi Puja. The puja consists of singing slokas dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi like the Lakshmi Sahasranamam. Arati is performed on the kalasham. Different types of sweets are offered. Some people offer pongal. In some areas women tie yellow thread on their hands.

The woman who is observing the Varalakshmi Puja abstains from eating certain kind of food and this varies from region to region. In some regions, women fast till the puja period.

Thamboolam – betel leaf, areca nut and slaked lime – is offered to women in the locality and in the evening an arati is offered.

The next day, that is on Saturday, after taking a bath the kalasham is dismantled and the water in the kalasham is sprinkled in the house. If rice is used then it is mixed with rice in the house.

There are no hard and fast rules in performing the Varalakshmi Puja and you can be flexible on the puja items. Even a simple prayer will please Goddess Lakshmi

Message from Artha Dharma founder

Bless all the members of Artha Dharma ,
May all of you be blessed by the Divine.
I have many Whats app groups and am also member of many groups to find out what is going on in the mind of people.
My observation is that negative incidents or events become very very viral and shared by most of the people.
Good events or good thoughts are less shared with others.
The power of negative attraction is more than the power of positive attraction.
For positive things to happen in life you must be very very very positive and surround yourself with many many positive people , listen to many many many positive words or read many many positive quotations, attend positive and uplifting events and read positive books.
Stop complaining about other people , stop complaining about what you are going through now , stop complaining about the community and the county and the world.
Remember you are an accumulation of what you have done before and accept it and move forward with the right frame of mind.
Intensify your mantra yoga and positive affirmation. Intensify your prayers. Intensify your temple worship. Give back to the community.
Remember that everything is governed by the Law of Karma , another name is Law of Attraction. You attract what you say think and do.
May all of you are blessed,
With love
